First Hair Cut!!

That's right, Maddox got his first hair cut. It was so hard for me to cut off those beautiful curls and ringlets. Don't worry I saved them. I loved his hair, but I was so tired of him being called a girl. Anywhere we went, even though he was totally dressed like a boy, they would tell me what a beautiful girl I had! And on the fourth of July this old lady said, "oh she is so cute." In which Paul replied, "she is a he." She then said something like, "Guess he needs a hair cut." That was it for me. We gave him the haircut and it turned out really good. I had the hardest time getting him to hold still outside on the patio, so Paul and I finally took him upstairs to the tub so Paul could hold him better. It took a while to finish, but that's okay. I still miss his curls.

Cedar Chest

This is my anniversary, mothers day, and birthday gift. I received this beautiful cedar chest from my husband. I love it!! It means so much to me and will be in our family for many years after we are gone. It is one of the best gifts I have ever received! (On the top it say our names and the date we got married. It also has the quote "Come grow old with me... the best is yet to be". On one side of the chest is the Idaho Falls temple- where we took our endowments and on the other side is the Salt Lake temple-where we were married. On the front is a wedding picture of Paul and I.)

4th of July

For the 4th of July Paul's sis DC and her family came up from Utah. Paul had to work that day so it wasn't quite as fun! That morning I took Maddox to the parade and Paul's family met us there. Afterwards we went to the park where they had a band playing and free face painting for the kids, free water, free popsicles, and free hot dogs. It was lots of fun and Maddox got a 4th of July washable tattoo since he wouldn't sit still long enough to get his face painted. Maddox loved the band and went right in front where they were playing and started dancing. It was so cute!! Later that evening when Paul was off from work we went with my sis and her fiance to buy fireworks and dinner at the Green T. As soon as we were done with that we made our way up to Highland to watch the fairground fireworks. We then went to Paul's parent's home and lit of the little kid fireworks. It was a nice evening.
The next day Paul, Maddox, and I went swimming with Paul and his family at Ross Park. It was tons of fun and Maddox loved it. It turned out to be a great weekend.
(The pics I got of the 4th are on my phone because I forgot the camera, but I haven't downloaded them so you only get to see pics of the swim day)

Boise and Charlotte trip

At the end of June Paul, Maddox and I made a trip to Boise. We got there late Wednesday night so Paul and my dad could fly to Charlotte, NC, early Thursday morning, for business. Maddox and I got the chance to stay in Boise and visit with family for about 4 1/2 days until Paul flew back Monday afternoon. It was a great chance to relax and just enjoy ourselves. It was tons of fun. We got to go watch Enoch play rugby and the ladies(My mom, Lyndsay, and I) got to go to the movie The Proposal, while Enoch and Jess babysat. My mom also helped me out a ton with Maddox so I could relax. It was nice! I had a great time, but I sure did miss my hubby and so did Maddox!! I couldn't wait for him to get home and when he did I started to cry. Wow these prego hormones are crazy. Here are some random pics from the trip.

Father's Day

Father's Day this year was very relaxing. In fact it was pretty much like any other Sunday, but this Sunday Paul and I were ask to substitute teach the Sunbeam class and it was Maddox's first time in the Nursery. We were quite nervous since the kids are quite young and energetic and Paul had never been to Primary before, being that he is a convert. We did bring candy, though, just in case we would have to bribe the kids. Everything went great and Paul and I enjoyed ourselves a lot! Maddox also did very well in the nursery and had no problems. It definitely made it a Father's Day to remember!

Update

(I started this blog more for myself, almost like a journal. I have been terrible at posting what is going on with us right now. We have been quite busy and I really just don't have the desire to do it, but I'm making myself! So I will try to post once a day until I am caught up.)

Around the end of June Maddox and I made our way down to Utah to attend one of my great childhood friends, Kadie Kinney's, baby shower. Kadie is expecting her first child, a girl, in August. The baby shower was beautiful and stunning! The food was delicious and we had a fun time playing bingo, even though I didn't win. It was great to see her and her family!! Maddox and I had a great time and wish that we could of stayed and visited longer, but when it was over we had to leave and make the drive back home.
